The Letters began in 2015 as a collection of thoughts on my own explorations of life and culture in Toronto. In the years since, they've followed through elections, cultural movements, new parenthood, and a global emergency. Today, The Letters continue with the thoughts I'm able to pull together through the beautiful and the brutal, the moments of grief and joy. Each Letter contains a poetry excerpt and a brief essay that I hope brings mutual connection. The essays cover topics ranging from homeschooling and early childhood education right on through to urban wildlife, municipal, national, and global politics, and the ways people are regaining their connections with their communities in ways large and small.
